Seumas Alasdair Iain

James (1847-1894) was the son of Alexander Beaton and Christina Campbell. In 1851, during the croft re-lotting, the family obtained 11 Coll.

He married Isabella Maciver of 40 Coll. The couple were cottars at 40 Coll and they had seven children.
