115963: John Beaton
John (1785-1858) was a son of Duncan Beaton, Coll Tacks. In 1807 he obtained 9 Old Coll, as a newly lotted croft.
He married Margaret Maciver of Gress. John and Margaret lived at 9 Old Coll and they had three children.
John was widowed and later married Margaret Finlayson from Coll. John and Margaret lived at 9 Old Coll and they had three children.
In 1851, during the croft re-lotting, the family obtained 12 Coll.
