117065: Lewis Maciver

Lewis was the son of Evander Maciver. His father was the tacksman of Back and Gress Tack.

By 1807 he is possibly listed as tacksman under the title of Evander Maciver and heirs, but by 1814 he alone is listed as tacksman and this situation continues in 1825.

By 1833 Gress Tack was seperated from Back Tack and Back Tack was let directly to joint tenants, as Old Back, but in 1835 the tacksman once again took over tenancy of the Old Back.

In 1843 Lewis was involved in chosing the resettlement site of the Old Lemreway crofters and he selected Glen Tolsta. He did this to keep the men together as a fishing group so they could supply his fish curing business.

In 1851 he lost Old Back when it was relotted as Back.
