Donald (1829-1917) was the son of John Morrison and Flora Paterson of Borve. The site of their home was later known as Tobhta Fhionnghala ni' Shomhairle. 

At Lossiemouth, in 1860, he married Jane Simpson of Lossiemouth; At the time he was working as a labourer. Donald and Jane settled in Lossiemouth and they had eight children.
