Niall Mhurchaidh Thormoid
Neil (born 1845) was the son of Murdo Beaton and Ann Macdonald of Nova Scotia and formerly of 16 Old Vatisker. In 1849 the family were living in Lingwick, Quebec.
On the 5th of January 1875 he married Margaret Macrae from Quebec and formerly of Tolsta. The couple settled in Lingwick and had they five children. In 1891 and 1901 the family are enumerated at Compton, in 1901 at Linwick and in 1911 at Compton.
