John (1896-1986) was a son of Murdo Macleod and Christina Macrae, Partick, Glasgow.
The family moved to Linthouse Buildings in Govan and in 1911 emigrated to Canada and settled at Calgary, Alberta.
John served in the Canadian Navy in the First World War and is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.
