Norman Thomson (1881-1948) was from Steinish, Stornoway. He was an electrician and emigrated to Canada in 1904.
He married Isabella Macleod formerly of 4 Garyvard. The couple settled at Calgary, Alberta and they had two sons. Isabella's nephew, Donald John Macleod came to live with the family as his mother died after his birth. Later Donald John was known as Donald John Thomson. The nieces, Murdina and Mary Ann who lived with their aunt Margaret later came to live with the family to continue their education
In 1945 the couple were living at 1520 11th Avenue, Calgary.
