Donald Bannerman Macdonald (1897-1917) was a son of Malcolm Macdonald and Margaret Bannerman, 9 Westside Street, Glasgow. The family moved to 23 Raglan Street and later to 106 Roselea Drive, Dennistoun, Glasgow. Donald was educated at the Allen Glen School where he was Headmaster's Secretary during the last year.
He joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Service Number Clyde Z/8157 and served on HMS Brisk as a signalman in the First World War.
Donald lost his life aged 19. His name is remembered on Portsmouth Naval Memorial.
