Alexander Murdo (1922-2024) was a son Malcolm Macleod and Margaret Macdonald, 1 Caverstay. He worked on various Hydro Electric Schemes on the Mainland and on the road building schemes in Lochs. Alexander Murdo also worked on Gravir Pier and Garyvard Pier.
He served in the Royal Naval Patrol Service in the Second World War. His service number was LT/JX281593 and he was Minesweeping in the United Kingdom, Pacific and Mediterranean. He is mentioned in Roll of Honour: Pairc, Second World War.
In his later years he moved to 1 Drum Fraoich and latterly Bethesda Hospice. Alexander Murdo was a bachelor and lived until he was 101.
