Peter (1847-1920) was a son of Angus Matheson and Henrietta Macdonald, Cape Breton and formerly of 1 Erista, Uig. The family moved to Whitton, Quebec.
He married Anne Macdonald from Quebec and they had a son, George.
Peter was widowed and in Quebec, in 1876, he married Mary Macrae, Compton County and formerly of 3 Habost, Lochs, Isle of Lewis. Peter and Mary initially settled at Beuce, Quebec and later moved to Compton County. The couple had at least eight children. He is buried at Lakeside Cemetery, Dudswell.
