Calum Aonghais

Malcolm (1791-1877) was a son of Angus MacRitchie and Ann MacLeod of 8 Old Carnish. He was living at 49 Swainbost when he married Ann MacAulay of 7 Penny Donald. The couple lived at Penny Donald after their marriage and as cottars on 8 Old Carnish. Malcolm and Ann had seven children.

in 1839 Malcolm, Ann and their family removed to Swainbost where they later obtained Croft No 49. Penny Donald was cleared in 1840 as part of the new farm of Ardroil and most of its people relocated on part of Swainbost farm in Ness.
