12764: Angus Macrae

Aonghas Mhurchaidh Mhurchaidh

Angus  (1900-1978) was a son of Murdo Macrae and Ann Macleod, 6 Habost.

He was a Flight Lieutenant with the Royal Air Force in the early 1920s and served throughout the Second World War in the UK and in North Africa. Angus is mentioned in  Roll of Honour: Pairc, Second World War. 

At Partick, in 1929, he married Mary Macaskill, 12 Gravir.  Angus and Mary emigrated to South Africa and settled at 44 Scott Street, Observatory, Cape Town. The couple had three children.

Angus was widowed in 1960 and later married Agnes Maria Ferreira from Southern Rhodesia.
