John (1834-1921) was a son of Hector Mackenzie and Margaret Smith, 26 Balallan.
In Lochs, in 1864, he married Anne Macleod from 24 Balallan. John and Anne lived at 24 Balallan and they had six children.
John was widowed in 1879, and at Stornoway, in 1880, married Ann Martin, 38 Balallan. John and Ann lived at 24 Balallan and they had five children.
John was widowed again in 1904.
