36227: Mary Smith

Mary Smith (born 1781) was from Vuai Mhor. According to local tradition Mary was one of the family of Smiths that lived on Vuia Mhor – that would leave her a sibling of Murdo Smith.

She married John Macleod from Vuai Mhor where they settled. The couple had six children.

Mary was widowed in the 1840s and the Island was cleared. Mary, her son, John and a daughter left Vuai Mhor.

She moved to  2 Geshader with her son John and his family.

Mary died between 1851 and 1861.
