43264: Neil Buchanan

Neil, born c1803, was a son of Donald Buchanan and Ann Mackay. He married three times with issue from the three marriages.

In 1841 he was enumerated at Aird Callaish with his mother, sister and two of his children. By 1851 he had moved to 1 Crulivig and later that year he emigrated with his family to Quebec, living first in Bury then in Whitton before eventually settling in Scotstown.

Neil was noted for being particularly religious and God-fearing.
