45533: Margaret Macritchie
Margaret (born 1916) was the daughter of John Macritchie and Margaret Macleod, Winnipeg. Her parents had emigrated from Lewis and both she and her brother were born there. A legacy of this was a distinctive American twang when they spoke Gaelic.
The family returned to the UK, arriving at Greenock on the SS Duchess of Bedford on June 22, 1934 and settled at 5 Garynahine. Her father died in 1963 and in the late 1960s the family moved to the maternal croft at 1 Crulivig.
Margaret, who was unmarried, spent the last few years of her life in Crulivig.
