Anna Aonghais Aonghais

Ann (1868-1951) was a daughter of Angus Mackay and Catherine Maclennan of 4 Valtos. Her mother died in 1875 and her father later married Ann Macleod, 24 Brenish.

Ann married John Newall of Tong Farm and the couple settled at Tong Farmhouse. Ann and John had at least five children only four of whom survived.

In 1923 the family emigrated to Canada and lived there until 1933. When they returned to Lewis the family lived at Reay Cottage, Back.

Ann was widowed in 1940.
