70422: John MacKenzie
John MacKenzie, son of Dugald MacKenzie and Margaret MacAskill, was born in 1906 at his maternal grandparents’ croft at 7/1 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla). Presumably he returned with his parents to 5 Finsbay. Sadly his mother died in 1907, and John returned to live with his grandparents. John attended Berneray School from 1912 to 1920.
John, who never married, was passed 6 Ruisgarry (Beasdaire) following his uncle Roderick MacAskill’s death.
