91141: Mary Macdonald

Mary (born 1846) was the daughter of John Macdonald of 2 Portnaguran.

She married Kenneth Macleod of 67a North Tolsta. In 1874 they obtained 56 North Tolsta. Mary and Kenneth had eight children.

Three of the couple's sons were killed during the First World War. In 1915 Angus was killed whilst serving with the Seaforth Highlanders. In 1916 their eldest son, John, was killed whilst serving with the Royal Naval reserves. In 1917 Alexander was killed whist serving with the Seaforth Highlanders.
