91706: Murdo Maciver
Murdo (1830-1881) was the son of Donald Maciver and Margaret Maciver of 19/20 Aird Tong.
In 1841 the family obtained 20 Old North Tolsta.
Murdo married Mary Murray of 9 Old North Tolsta and the couple settled at 17 North Tolsta, which was a newly split croft in 1853, and had seven children: three girls and four boys. Murdo’s parents obtained 26 North Tolsta this same year, so it is not certain if he ever lived there with them.
In August 1881 Murdo was drowned while fishing off Wick.
In due course 17 North Tolsta passed to their son Angus.
