John Angus was the son of John Mackay and Catherine Matheson of 65 Coll.

John Angus married Annie Maciver, of 43 North Tolsta, they had a daughter and a son and they moved to Plasterfield. Their daughter lives in Inverness and the son lives in Stornoway.
