John (born 1878) was the son of Malcolm Mackay and Mary Macleod of 65 Coll.
John married Catherine Matheson, of 12 Lower Bayble, and the couple settled at 65 Coll. They had eleven children.
In due course 65 Coll passed to their youngest daughter.
