Alex Finlayson was born at 10/11 Brue in 1810. His parents were Colin Finlayson and Ann Matheson. Alex married Mary Macleod of 37 Arnol in 1831 and had a family of 10 children, five sons and five daughters, living at 10/11 Brue. Alex died in 1880 and is buried in Barvas.
