The first tenant of this croft was Murdo Macaulay (1778-1875) from Balallan. His daughter Rachel, who married John Macinnes of Uig, resided on the croft before emigrating to Quebec. The croft then passed to Norman Macleod (1837-1914), 48 Leurbost.

The next tenant of 9 Garyvard was John Macritchie of 21 Gravir and 48 Leurbost a relative of Norman.

Malcolm Macleod (1895-1966) was the next tenant and he passed the croft to his son Kenneth.
