Iain Aonghais
John (1788-1872) was the son of Angus Mackay from Kirkibost. He later moved to Peinthinndelein.
He married Catherine Macinnes from Kirkibost. In the 1820s the couple were among the first families to settle in Achmore. John and Catherine lived at 1 Old Achmore and they had five children.
In the 1850s settlement John obtained the croft at 3 Achmore.
John was widowed in 1867.
