Catherine Macinnes (1785-1869) was from Kirkibost.
She married John Mackay from Peinthinndelein and formerly Kirkibost. The couple were among the first families to settle in Achmore in the 1820s. Catherine and John lived at 1 Old Achmore and they had five children.
In the 1850s settlement the family obtained 3 Achmore.
