Mary (1811-1886) was a daughter of John Macdonald and Christy Smith 11 Old Ranish. The family later moved to 39 Ranish.
She married Alexander Mackay, 2 Old Achmore. The couple settled at 7 Achmore and they had eight children, only five of whom survived#
Mary was widowed in 1861 and the family moved to a portion of the split croft at 8 Achmore.
