John (born 1826) was a son of Malcolm Macdonald and Margaret Maciver, 28 Old Leurbost and latterly 34 Leurbost. John married his first wife Margaret Macdonald from 41 Leurbost. The couple settled at 34b Leurbost and had four children. John settled there with his second wife Margaret Macaulay from 10 Grimshader. The couple had seven children.
