Jane (1843-1916) was the daughter of Andrew Finlayson and Christina Macleod of 2 Old Coll. In 1851, during the croft re-lotting, the family obtained 20 Coll.

Jane married John Nicolson of 1 Coll. Jane and John  were cottars at 20 Coll where they had four of their eight children. 

In 1873 the family emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
