Donald Maclennan (1775-1845) lived in Scarp, but it is not certain he was born there.
He married Mary Macaskill, of Scarp, but it is not known where the couple initially settled. The couple settled at 7 Buanish and when the village was cleared in 1826 they had five children. They were removed to 7 Tong and by 1829 he appears on the Tong Rental roll.
In due course 7 Tong passed to their son, Donald.
