Iain Mhurchaidh Choinnich
John (1915-2006) was a son of Murdo Macleod and Mary Macleod, Calgary Alberta. His parents were from Lochs, in the Isle of Lewis.
The family returned to Lewis and in the 1921 Census were living at 4 Garyvard. In 1923 his father returned to Canada. On May 17, 1924 the family sailed on the SS Canada from Stornoway to Quebec. In 1926 they were all living in Calgary.
John served in the Canadian Army in the Second World War. He married Elsie Mavis Currie and they settled at Calgary where they had two children. John was widowed in 1990.
