13327: Duncan Ferguson

Donnchadh Raghnaill Fhearghais

Duncan (1881-1960) was a son of Ronald Ferguson and Christina Macleod, 12 Habost.

On February 23, 1916 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve Service Number SD4236. Duncan was Immediately Mobilised and served in the Royal Navy in the First World War. His record indicates that he was 5ft 9 in tall with blue eyes and a fresh complexion. He was based at HMS Vivid, HMS Victory, HMS Pekin, HMS Gunner and aboard  HMS Kingfisher and HMT Craigewan. He received £14.7/6d in Prize Money and is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.

In Lochs, in  1927, he married Marion Morrison, Marig, Harris. Duncan and Marion settled at 12 Habost and they had three children.

In 1928 his brother-in-law, John Alick Morrison was living with the family.
