Murdo (1832-1895) was a son of John Macarthur and Isabella Mackenzie, 8 Cromore.

In Lochs, in 1859, he married Marion Mackenzie, 2 Keose. The couple initially lived at 2 Keose and moved to 26 Cromore in the 1860s. Murdo and Marion had eight children.
