The first tenant of this croft was John Macarthur (1781-1853) Iain Mhor and he passed 8 Cromore to his son, John Macarthur (1826-1885) Iain Iain. John passed the croft to his son, Roderick Macarthur (1857-1899) Ruaridh Iain Iain. Roderick passed 8 Cromore to his son, Malcolm Macarthur (1895-1983) Calum Ruairidh Iain.

Margaret Macarthur (1826–1868) Peigi Iain  married to Roderick Montgomery, 25 Ranish returned to the croft with her four children when her husband died in 1861.
