1465: Mary Macnaughton

The Macnaughton family; James, Margaret and daughter Mary, were at a bothy at An Cnoc Dubh in Kintulavig when the wife of the Linshader farmer saw Mary's mother Margaret in an advanced state of labour. She took the family in to the farm where their second child, John, was born. They remained in Linshader for a number of years, and had their third child Ann there before moving to Kirkibost (which was part of Linshader farm) where James was employed as a shepherd. They lived where 20 Kirkibost stands today.

Mary married Donald Macdonald and lived at his family home in Druim a Gharriadh before settling at 5 Crulivig. They had nine children; two dying in infancy.
