Neilena Henrietta Christina (1911-1966) was a daughter of Kenneth Neil Macdonald and Donaldina Macphail, Waterloo, Ontario. Her parents came from the Isle of Lewis. She was born in Waterloo.
Her father, Kenneth Neil was lost during the Great War and in 1915 Neilena and her mother returned to 19 Gravir. Neilena attended the Nicolson Institute in Stornoway where she contracted Tuberculosis and she spent three years in bed at Gravir. Neilena moved to Glasgow and worked as a nurse.
At St Barnabas Church, Glasgow, in 1943 she married Rev George West Gunn, an Episcopalian minister who was from Glasgow but living at 81 Pilton Drive, Edinburgh. Neilena became the lady of the manse in New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, and later in Dundee. They had no children.
Neilena brought her mother down to live with them in Dundee, but when Neilena developed Leukemia her mother returned to Lewis and was admitted to the County Hospital, Stornoway.
The both died in 1966.
