Angus (1904-1985) John Maciver and Isabella Mackay, 17 Shulishader

He emigrated to Canada on the SS Metagama in 1923. He worked with horses and became a lumberjack. He crossed the border into the United States of America and worked in Chicago  for some time before he travelled back to Canada.

In 1944, at the Smith Township, Peterborough, Ontario, he married Flora Macleod, 17 Balallan who had emigrated in 1933. They settled at Niagara Falls where Angus worked as a Power Station Superintendent. Angus and Flora had two daughters in Canada.

In 1950 the family returned to Lewis and settled at 17b Shulishader which Angus had inherited. They bought a Jersey cow from Chrissie Lawson's parents and started to sell the surplus milk. This turned into Point Dairy which ran until 1972. He provided milk for Point, South Lochs, Achmore and Lochganvich.
