Donald (born 1833) was a son of Murdo Macleod and Mary Macleod, 11 Cromore.
In Lochs, in 1858, he married Catherine Mackenzie, 5 Cromore. Donald and Catherine settled at 16 Cromore. They had no children.
Robert Montgomery of 8 Cromore and formerly of 25 Ranish was a servant at 11 Cromore and lived with the couple until his marriage in 1883
By 1891 the couple had moved to Stornoway.
