Donald (1823-1892) was a son of John Macdonald and Mary Ross Maciver, Crobeg Farm.
At Bracadale, Isle of Skye, in 1852, he married Jessie Macleod, Bracadale, Isle of Skye. Donald and Jessie settled at Crobeg Farm and they had six children.
Donald was the last tacksman at Crobeg Farm.
The family moved to the Tack House at 24 Doune Carloway when he became Land Officer (Maor) at Carloway in 1873.
