Màiri Dhòmhnaill Iain

Mary Ross Maciver (1787-1869) was the daughter of Donald Maciver and Mary Ross.  It is not known where the family were living at the time of her birth, but her father was born at Old North Tolsta Tack. It is believed that her father was a Ship Owner and Fish Curer in Stornoway.

In June 1802, when she was 16 and resident in Stornoway, Mary Ross married John Macdonald of  Crobeg. The couple had twelve children, including a set of twins. Three of their children died in infancy. The family moved to 13 Point Street, Stornoway in the 1850s.

Mary was widowed in 1866.
