56009: Alexander Nicolson

Alasdair Iain

Alexander (1828-1891) was the son of John Nicolson and Ann Macdonald, 13 Ranish.

In Lochs, in 1846, he married Mary Macleod from Ranish.

Alexander was widowed and in Lochs, in 1848, he married Catherine Macleod from Leurbost. 

Alexander was widowed again and in Lochs, in 1851, he married widow Mrs Mary Macleod nee Smith, 53 Balallan and formerly of 65 Balallan. Mary had a son, Malcolm Macleod from her first marriage. Alexander and Mary had two children,  Mary and Kenneth.

Alexander was widowed again in 1855 and Malcolm went to live with his maternal grandmother, Margaret Macleod nee Maciver, 20 Balallan.

In Lochs in 1856 he married Margaret Macdonald of 3 Ranish. Alexander and Margaret lived at 53 Balallan and they had three children, Roderick, John and Mary Ann.
