56831: Malcolm Montgomery
Calum Sheumais
Malcolm (1803-1872) was a son of James Montgomery and Mary Smith, 58 Balallan.
In Lochs, in 1831, he married Jane Macleod, 4 Old Eishken and Buanish. Malcolm and Jane were cottars at 4 Old Eishken where they had the first of their nine children.
Eishken was cleared in 1835 and the family were removed to 23 Cromore where they remained until 1854. The next move was to 5 New Garrabost, Point.
Malcolm was widowed in 1868 and at the time of his death the family were living at Keith Street, Stornoway.
Donald's Death Certificate states that his mother was Mary Macleod.
