Donald (1821-1897) was the son of Alexander Macleod and Christina Macleod. By 1833 the family were settled at 5 Old Back and in 1851 had obtained 38 Back.
Donald married Flora Macleod, of Gress. The couple settled at the Shepherds House, Glen Tolsta and they had eight children.
