101096: Norman Maciver

Norman (1861-1904)  was the son of Norman Maciver and Isabella Macdonald, 2 Upper Carloway. 

He was married twice; his first wife was Mary Mackenzie (Nighean Dhomhnaill Thormoid) of 34 Upper Carloway and they had five children together.  His second wife was Margaret Macphail (Nighean Iain Chalum Ruaidh) of 35 Upper Carloway and they had one child.

Norman died suddenly on his way home from Stornoway, aged 43 years.  His youngest child had not yet been born.  His second wife, Margaret Macphail, died when this child was two years old and he was raised by his mother’s sister, Effie.
