123730: Barvas Farm & Inn

In 1867 Barvas Farm and Inn were let to Marion Campbell (1822-1884), widow of Thomas Hope a former lightkeeper at Arnish. The family lived in Stornoway before she retired to Prestonpans.

In 1869 the farm passed to John Hunter (born 1833) from Tolsta Farm.

In 1872 the farm passed to Alexander Macfarquhar (1843-1885) from Swainbost.

In 1885 the farm passed to Robert Hunter (1827-1920) from Coll.

The farm then passed to the Barvas Estate.
