Margaret Mackenzie (1816-1897) was a daughter of Roderick Mackenzie and Catherine Macaulay, 3 Old Eishken.
In 1835 the family moved to 5 Old Lemreway.
In Lochs, in 1841, she married widower, John Macleod, 4 Cromore. Margaret and John settled at 4 Cromore and they had a daughter, Barbara. In the late 1860s the family exchanged crofts with John Kennedy, 17 Cromore
Barbara married Roderick Macleod, 24 Cromore. The couple lived at 28 Cromore and when Barbara died in 1874, her children came to live with their grandparents at 17 Cromore. When their granddaughter, Catherine married Roderick Montgomery the couple also lived with John and Margaret.
