Norman (1907-1992) was the son of Norman Maciver and Isabella Murray of 11 North Tolsta.
He married Margaret Maciver of 72 North Tolsta. The couple were cottars at 11 North Tolsta in a house Norman built. They left North Tolsta and they moved to 52 Manor Park, Stornoway.
In 1952 the couple and their six children emigrated to Canada.
They returned to Scotland in the 1970s, initially to Inverness. After a few years Norman and his wife returned to the Isle of Lewis, and they built a new house at 3a Knock.
