Donald (born 1863) was the son of John Macleod and Annabella Maciver, cottars at 37 Back.
He married Mary Macleod of 5 Lower Bayble. The couple settled at 3 New Street and they had four children.
In 1922 the family obtained 20 Gress as a newly lotted croft.
