Angus (born 1819) was the son of John Macfarlane and Annie Maciver, Borve. The family lived at 3 Old Gearraidh Ghuirm from 1830 until the village was cleared in 1840.

Angus married Christina Murray of Tolsta and they had a daughter, Mary. In 1851 his parents obtained 52 North Tolsta as a newly lotted croft and  the family were cottars there.

In 1853 the family emigrated to Canada and settled at Huron Township, Bruce County, Ontario.

Angus was widowed and later married Janet Gillies, Huron Township and  formerly of  Timsgarry Farm, Uig.
