93341: Malcolm Macfarlane

Malcolm (born 1825) was the son of John Macfarlane and Ann Maciver; it is not known where the family were living at the time of his birth. Both of his parents were from Borve, but it is not clear which Borve.

From 1830 to 1840 the family lived at 3 Old Gearraidh Ghuirm; it is not clear where they initially went after Gearraidh Ghuirm was cleared.

In 1851 the family obtained 52 North Tolsta as a newly lotted croft.

Malcolm married Marion Macleod, of 16 Lower Bayble, and the couple settled as cottars at 52 North Tolsta. They had their first child there.

In 1853 the family emigrated, with Malcolm’s parents and siblings, to Huron Township, Bruce County, Ontario. The couple had a further six children in Ontario.
